The first wonderful part of my weekend was having my son come home from college for the summer. He turned 20 on Sunday. No matter how old my boys get, I still don't like it when they are away from home!! The other great part of my weekend was the shopping. I hit garage sales and flea markets and shopped til I dropped. I don't usually find so much in one weekend, but I did make the haul this time!! I found some amazing things for both my home and my shop. Some of my favorite finds are the white garden bench that I will paint black to match my shutters. I have been wanting a garden bench to sit under the big tree in our front yard, and this one was just $8.00. You won't recognize it after I paint and seal it. Other favorite finds are the two primitive shelves I got. They are both primitively perfect - no work needed. The black one on the left has three working drawers. The one on the right is two pieces. The piece on top is a peg rack - the pegs are square nails. The piece on bottom hangs from the peg piece by leather straps. It is done in a deep prim brown color. The antique spindle back child's chair is amazing. It has dry worn brown paint. I even found the prim doll that is sitting on the chair for just $1.00. The tiny size school desk will fit in my shop space perfectly. What a great weekend, enjoy the photos!
